The late-payment clauses that usually sit unread in a quotation become live in Panzo. An overdue invoice shows the interest contractually owed, and you can chase the balance over WhatsApp, while whether to actually charge or pause stays a human decision.
Interest is shown, never auto-charged
Set your terms once in Control Panel, Payment Plans, Late Payment & Invoice Terms. From then on, an overdue invoiced milestone shows the interest owed on its row and as an Interest Accrued figure in Finance. Panzo computes and displays the number. It never silently writes it onto the bill, raises an invoice for it, or blocks anything, because whether to pursue interest from a client is a commercial call you make with the relationship in mind.
Note
Only a real bill can be late
How the interest is calculated
Every part of the calculation lives in Control Panel and changes without a deployment, so it can track your contract and local law.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Charge interest | On | Master switch. Turn it off and overdue milestones still show the delay, just no amount. |
| Invoice due (working days) | 3 | Sets the due date when the invoice is raised, using your company calendar of weekly offs and holidays. |
| Interest (% per month) | 2 | The contractual rate. A month is treated as thirty days. |
| Legal cap (% per month) | Blank | Whichever is lower applies. A cap above your rate never raises it. |
| Grace (days) | 0 | Pay inside grace and nothing is owed. Once it lapses, interest runs from the original due date. |
| Basis | Simple | Simple, or compound monthly. |
Interest is displayed only. Nothing is invoiced or posted for it, and an over-payment does not earn negative interest. Today the figure surfaces in the Finance module rather than on the project's own Payments section.
Sending a WhatsApp reminder
For an overdue milestone, Send Reminder messages the customer on WhatsApp and only then marks the reminder as sent. If the send fails, nothing is flipped, so you can safely retry without double-messaging the client.
Configure WhatsApp once
Your organisation's WhatsApp number and the customer's phone must be set. The action fails loudly if either is missing.Open the overdue milestone
In Finance, find the milestone showing days late and the interest owed.Send Reminder
Panzo sends the WhatsApp message, then records that the reminder went out.
Tip
Two more contractual rights, human-decided
